DAY 34...

i'm posting a couple pix from yesterday first. i thought THEY were bad until i had another little photo shoot today

HELP!!!!!! i'm so frustrated! i had SEVERAL great photo ops today and NONE of them turned out! what am i doing wrong?

i figured out what went awry on a few (ISO 1600 IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT?! HELLO!!!)
is that why some of them are "grainy", and others are "WASHED OUT"? i'm SO bummed! the 1st closeup is one of my FAVORITE shots ever of tman, but this was the best i could do, EVEN w/editing....bummer! i have a LOT to learn...grrrr.

I am super stuggling as well, right now!! I am not much help--but they do look good. I swear, with those two cute boys, you can't take a bad picture!

I think they're great. And...I'm not much better with all the stuff either. I'm thinking the composition lessons will be great for all of us. Seriously though...I love the second shot of Tman. ;)

Oh, Niki, believe it or not, I hear your pain. Last week I was really struggling. Just remember what's on Amy's blog, "we'd be lucky to have 12 good pictures a year." That being said, I LOVE the first picture of T. The composition is great and the expression is adorable. This is definitely frame-worthy.

p.s. Just to hopefully make you feel better, it's the days that I think I have the most AND best photo opts that I get the worst pictures. And yes, there is nothing more discouraging than that. Hang in there though... I think you're doing great. We're too hard on ourselves. :)

Hang in there. I can't tell you how many times I forget to set my ISO or shutter speed or aperature from my last photo shoot and I end up ruining dozens of photos. 1600 ISO would be the cause of the "grainyness". My only suggestion at this point would be to get away from your flash and start to shoot with more natural light. It appears to me that you use your flash even outside. I think that would take some of your pictures from "snapshot" quality to something more. :)

Well, you truly took lemons and made lemonade. You took what you thought were bad pictures and turned them into something really artsy. I especially like the last pic of T-man. It has a lot of style.
